    Prospect Park Press released "The Spa Less Traveled," a comprehensive coffee table-type book rating hundreds of Southern California's ethnic spas. To create a mobile version, we paired down the list to a top 100 and rebranded the app as "LA's Best Spas."

    Authors of the groundbreaking and bestselling travel guide, LA Bizarro, wanted to update their content for mobile audiences without undertaking a major new revision to their book. We suggested a "teaser app" that would give users a sampling of content for a low price and stimulate more book sales. Escape Apps incorporated the content into our Know What network and created an inexpensive solution for a very cool but resource-constrained project.

The Best Veg Food in the Bay Area as Picked By Genius Experts took advantage of our special packages for bloggers to create a new revenue stream based on old content that reaches the huge food and dining app market.

    San Francisco-based Thinkwalks showcases deep knowledge about the Bay Area for locals and visitors who want to go beneath the surface and understand all the things that make San Francisco so unique and special. But weekly walking tours can only go so far. In creating two focused apps, one for tourists and this one, Local Nerd! aimed at locals, Thinkwalks's knowledge expands into audiences' everyday lives.

    Local historian, tour guide and community enthusiast Joel Pomerantz knows a thing or two about San Francisco. He wanted to expand beyond his weekly walking tours and create a couple of apps, one for tourists and one for locals, that could help others better understand everything he loves about S.F. and what makes it so unique and special. Joel took advantage of our special rates for non-profits and small businesses to create two very cool apps, this one and Local Nerd!

    Los Angeles food blog Deep End Dining is one of the original bizarre food sites. Escape Apps approached creator Eddie Lin to create a Know What network app out of his multi-year culinary adventure across Southern California. We transitioned his data from the blogger CMS to ours and worked with Lin to create a mobile strategy for the site.

    The Los Angeles Conservancy is the US's largest, member-based, historical preservation group and it has a wealth of knoweldge and understanding about the buildings that make Los Angeles great. Unfortunately, much of that knowledge is locked up in legacy projects. Escape Apps provides CMS support to turn those archives into popular mobile apps. The Conservancy also takes advantage of special rates we offer to non-profits.

As part of our Know What network, his app The City's Best Cocktail Spots guides folks to the best places to experience high-minded and, frankly, just delicious drinks. English took advantage of our special packages for bloggers to create a great app and a new revenue stream for his content.

    In Malibu, Calif., coastal access to public beaches has been litigious and controversial. LA-based environmental journalist Jenny Price has covered the issue for decades and wanted to make her deep knowledge more applicable to all Angelenos and visitors to what she calls "one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world." Escape Apps customized our Basic App package to make the depth of information easily scannable and usable for all audiences.

In a city crowded with local guide apps that either don't work or don't meet user expectation, Escape Apps created a simple, clear interface for people who want to know where to go and how best to experience Seattle drinking culture.

    Los Angeles cocktail blogger Caroline on Crack wanted an easy way to give her audience a select guide to her city's don't miss bars and lounges. Her blog's won numerous awards for its up-to-the-minute coverage of the city's dynamic cocktail scene, so she needed a mobile app that could change quickly and effortlessly, always providing accurate information. With Escape Apps dynamic content updates, her app's data updates in the background, without ncessitating a software update or any user interaction.

We modified our Basic App to create an experience that local hikers are calling "indespensible."

    Burritoeater's Top 30 San Francisco Taquerias

    Burritoeater.com is the definitive, encyclopedic source for San Franciscan Mexican food. And with over 900 burritos under his belt, there wasn't a huge budget left for creating a mobile strategy. Escape Apps worked with Burritoeater to transition his data from an antiquated CMS to a mobile audience with minimal fuss and expense. We created a mobile strategy for the site and lead the PR effort around the app launch.

    California-based dining and restaurant site Food GPS covers a range of cuisine all over the Golden State. The content is available for browsing on the web, but site owner Joshua Lurie wanted a premium app experience for core users. Escape Apps designed an app with segmented datasets available via in-app purchasing to create a low bar for user acquisition and multiple ways to monitize his content.

    Bay Area smart planning group SPUR commissioned a 2009 study to find all of downtown S.F.'s privately owned public spaces – areas in commercial developments set aside for public use. Their groundbreaking study made a splash upon release but later fell out of the media spotlight. Their app SF's Secret Gardens and Hidden Oases gave new life to the information and created an easy, actionable way for the content to inspire San Franciscans anew, including this great coverage on Architizer.

    James Beard Award-winning food writer Carolyn Jung, aka Food Gal, blogs about everything Bay Area and food related. She took advantage of our special app package for bloggers and rolled her years of accumulated restaurant reviews into her app, Food Gal's Ultimate Guide to Bay Area Eats. At her request, we added Open Table integration for easy reservations and more room for her high res, mouth watering photos.
